Collateral Advantage - the silver rain

The improvements and time savings gained by automating Assessment and Inspection processes with a system such as Clarinspect are the silver lining on the dark clouds of wastage. What then occurs are the follow-on rewards, the unforeseen benefits - the silver rain from the silver lining...

Generally companies predicate the use of Clarinspect on the savings in time and money, but some have considered the intangible benefits, and included them in the business case. Sometimes though there are additional surprise improvements.

One of our clients used to have a paper process following the Assessment phase that would take a couple of days before the final output - the explanatory (non)compliance letter - was filed and available for Customer Services. This lead to repeated embarrassment for Customer Service Staff and aggravation for clients - as no-one knew the reasons for the non-compliance at the time of enquiry.

The automation of the process meant that the full documentation was filed within half an hour of completion - considerably shortening the process. the side effect was that all enquiries from the clients were resolved at first point of contact - Customer Services.

A win for both parties.

As Clarinspect enables the inclusion of photos in the relevant location within the Assessment data this can lead to side effects. One Clarinspect client included photos for quality and training reasons within their Assessment data. However what occurred is that as the photos were also included in their customer reports, that all queries and questions about the compliance process dropped to nil.

That's right. By including the contextual photo in the customer report this helped the customer see for themselves where issues arose, and so they no longer needed to call.

Another win for both parties.

The moral of this story (and the AssessmentNinja loves morals) is to look more widely that the obvious benefits, and try and plan for silver rain.
