How Clarinspect improves efficiency both on site and in the office

Preamble

Information is only as good as the way it can be read and understood.

Who is the audience? What is their purpose with the information?

We have dealt with clients whose prior experience had been software that turned multiple site visits into one monster PDF. There was no consideration of ‘what happens next’. Their clients were sick and tired of having to wade through a huge document to then re-partition information out to the various contractors who needed it.

Clarinspect can deal with this differently and always has an eye on what your clients are looking for, so you deliver what they need.

The “monster document”; a true terror

A problem clients have before coming to us is that current software systems present their inspection results as one huge document. Such things become very difficult to navigate and extract information from.

Such a document is very close to becoming a “monster document” and they are true terrors to deal with. Information and data all across the document, the potential to not have a clear structure, and an overall lack of cohesion as the information from multiple site visits is squashed together.

This type of report is inaccessible to the customer and can even be hard for the team that made it to decipher if it has become too cluttered.

Consider a large site with multiple buildings, each to be demolished. Each building has to have an asbestos survey first.

In this case a clear statement of risks, asbestos presence and location is needed - the end user of the information will be a demolition company, or a removalist, in which case having everything about a specific building on one easy to read report solely about that building presents what is needed, so reducing the chance of errors, some of which could be hazardous.

“How can I avoid this issue?” I hear you ask. Well read on to find out more...

One site to rule them all

With Clarinspect, the worst parts of inspections are done for you.

With Clarinspect, the worst parts of inspections are done for you.

You’re on a brand new site, ready to start inspecting. Say there are 4 buildings that need to be looked over. In Clarinspect assign a workpackage to a site; this allows for each building to be listed under a separate inspection in that workpackage, yet share project and job details.

By having an inspection listed for each building at a site, a separate document is produced for each property that has to be demolished; no monster report, no clutter.

Each report is neatly laid out in a consistent format; this allows anyone looking at the document to quickly find information about a specific building on any given site. In addition to saving time on the side of the reader, the information presented is specific and limited to what is required to get the job done (in this case the demolition).

Post-amble

By using Clarinspect Workpackages you can break a large site down into a series of specific inspections and surveys that result in reports aligned to what your clients need in order to take their next step - you have provided the information and analysis they wanted, in the format they need to instruct contractors. This reduces potential misunderstandings, oversights, document fatigue and information overload.

By using Clarinspect you’ve helped your customer achieve their goals, not just met the brief.
